Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, has conferred the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary upon Dr. Géza Tarnai, transport engineer, engineering educator, and Professor Emeritus of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
The award was presented in recognition of his exemplary work spanning over half a century in the transport engineering profession, his dedication to the advancement of domestic and international railway control and safety technology, his teaching career that has been defining for generations, and his highly influential research and publication activities.
I believe that this honor belongs not only to me but also to those dear colleagues and friends with whom I have had the privilege of working alongside for many, many years.
